Nap or Not to Nap....

Seriously, Taylor is so stubborn... she gets it from me... but i can't put her on a schedule to save my life!!! Most almost 4 month olds are eating every 3-4 hours have 3 naps... Well not Taylor. She eats like every 2 hours 5-6oz... when we try to put her down for a nap she has to have another bottle (which she only eats 1-2oz) its like her pacifier to get her to sleep (i know, not a good habit) but when we try to give her a pacifier she spits it out and looks at you like "why are you putting this in my mouth?" I have been thinking about just taking those things and just tossing them... but then i get scared because i don't want her to suck on her thumb, i rather the pacifier that i can take away when she turns 1.... my parents never gave me a pacifier, and i never sucked on my thumb... so i suppose every baby is different. she turns 4 months in 2 days!!!! woah... i think i will keep the pacifiers around until she turns 5 months and if she is still not taking them, i am just going to toss them :)

Today was a pretty good day, until 3pm when she started getting crabby for no reason... haha. we went to Target to get diapers, formula, and some more bottles (babies are so expensive).... we were using the bottles that have the liners in them but needing to buy those every week $$ it sure was adding up!! so we switched from the drop-ins to the NUK bottles... i love those bottles, it took a few days for Taylor to adjust to the new bottles but she picked up on it and loves them... so we needed to buy some more because 6 bottles is not enough... 9 bottles should be perfect considering how much that girl eats!! we start her on baby cereal after her 4 month appointment... as long as the doctor says she is hitting her milestones and can start to eat solids.. that should cut back on some of her fussiness i hope!

We stopped by the mall and i bought taylor her swimsuit for this summer! Ahhh I'm so excited about it because its sooo cute :) it was super cheap $12.50 hahahaha and then i bought her a pair of baby sunglasses that were $3.50.... i couldn't put them on her in the store because she was asleep... so i was like umm size 0-2year... they will fit... tell me why i get home and my baby's head is too big???? Hahaha, yes another bad trait she gets from her momma a big head. Oh well it was only $3.50.. they were really cute to, so i will have to go and get a bigger pair for her. There is a swimming pool here in Eau Claire i think its called Fairfax Pool... but its only $3.75 to get in and by the time the weather gets hot in eau claire she will be 8-9 months so it will be something to do here!! pretty excited about it... i have to go and get an oversized one piece with a skirt... because nobody wants to see me in a swimsuit!!! hahaha... im just kidding about the skirt... but it will be a one piece!!!

The angel has been napping for about 30 min so she is probably about to wake up any second!! here are a few new photos of Taylor and Brandon!

Crazy Baby, Just Totally Venting! Ha

So the weather has been pretty frigid here in Wisconsin... which means Taylor and I have not left the house. I hate the Winter everything about it. Living in Wisconsin has made me hate the cold and snow. Living in Tennessee made me cherish every snow fall because it was super rare... speaking of TN and snow... i heard clarksville pretty much shut down today because they "heard" it was going to snow... haha.. my mom and dad said that the snow did show up and its snowing the the grass is pretty much covered. What sucks is that Brandon and I have not seen grass since November, the snow never leaves until late April!!

OMG.. my mom just sent me a text message that said " I am so excited, I get to shovel the driveway..." really???

Sooo it just sucks that i get on facebook and i see people pictures of friends taking there kids on walks or they can carry there babies outside to like Target or something. While here in Wisconsin we are jumping from building to building with Taylor in her car seat covered in blankets... only to rush inside of a building. I totally understand why people who living in this crazy state is outside from april-sept enjoying every min of the sun... which i don't think it gets hotter then 85 here anyways... depressing. Only for the snow to start up again in October... ugh.. ALRIGHT so that was my venting about the cold temps...

Taylor has been super moody the past few days, and i think its because she has Cabin Fever... she just has been cooped up in this house so long that its starting to get to her... haha J/K... but really i don't know what her problem is.. she is not napping that well which means she is crying and wining because she is super tired... so finally its almost 5pm and she is taking her 2nd nap of the day, which her first one was 30 min... so hoping she wakes ups more cheerful! As i had Taylor wrapped up in her princess blanket, on my shoulder just listening to her breathe (finally asleep) i didn't want to set her down because i was afraid she was going to wake up... of course i laid her down eventually and she stayed asleep... but as i was sitting there on our rocker/glider i couldn't help to think of what would i have done if i did not have this rocker???? There are a lot of things that babies do not need... but a rocker is one thing that you absolutely need!! All babies are different but a few things that Taylor could not live without, other than the basic necessities.... are a rocker, diaper genie (omg i couldn't imagine not having one of these, ew gross), Swing or Bouncy seat (you can't hold your baby all day!), her play gym, baby monitor, her boppy... they are good for feeding and she slept in it too...a few things that brandon and I could live with out would be the HUGE stroller/car seat travel system... we didn't do our research so i got my mom to buy this huge Eddie Bauer Travel system... which the stroller is so big that we have to perfectly aline the tires and stroller to shut the trunk of my car... or it won't close... and the car seat is super heavy 10 pounds... yes i put the car seat on my scale... Taylor is like 14 pounds so that is carrying 24 pounds on your arm where ever you need to go... if brandon and i have another kid... we are going to do our research a little better... but she has an awesome stroller for Disney Land one day! HAHA. Another thing i could do without is my 2-door car, I'm not even going to get into that conversation...

ohh noo the princess is awake... she was only asleep for like 20 min.... :( maybe she will sleep ALL night considering she hasn't slept all day!

My Beautiful Baby!!

Such an accomplishment!!

Taylor ROLLS over!! YAYAYAY!!!! she is almost 4 months and she finally rolled from her belly to her back, we have to place her arms under her... then she has it from there! She rolled over yesterday... and today i would put her on her stomach and she would roll over on her own. Apparently Brandon and I are not too funny because she has only had one or two good belly laughs... i can't wait till she is laughing all the time!!!

Air Force

This past week my brother Edward Olsen graduated from the Air Force Basic Training... I am so very proud of him!! He is also a recent Graduate from APSU with a Bachelors in Business.. (yes we almost graduated at the same time... Ha, i still beat him by a semester.) My parents went down to Texas to see him graduate... i wish i could have made it to see him graduate, but with a new baby and living 700 miles away from my parents i couldn't just mooch off the parents and go with them...LOL.. so financially it wasn't possible... but he knows that, and he forgives me for not making it! Eddy sent me a text yesterday and told me that he was on his plane waiting to take off to Mississippi to go to his School, after that, he is off to his first duty station.... we do not know where he is going yet... the parents said that he would love to get stationed in California... lord i hope he does not get stationed in Japan. Regardless, i will visit him even if it is Japan... Richard my older brother is a Marine and he was stationed in San Diego, CA and i went and saw him a couple of times....one of those times, he pretty much said "if you jump out of a plane with me, i will pay for your plane ticket to come up to California." hahaha... i said "what? free vacation and i just have to skydive?? Ok!" so that was an adventure itself!!

So... My grandfather (who i never met) was in the Navy. My dad is in the Army. Richard is a Marine. Edward is in the Air Force. My mom was in the Army as well.... as for me.... your crazy i am not going to basic, yes i am the only Olsen to not join a military service... I almost joined the air force after high school... but i think i made the right decision for my future.

My little Princess

Oct 2, 2009 we welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Taylor Kate Beckner. I finally got around to getting her newborn video done and here it is!! The video is when we were in the hospital, and a few days after she was born. We are so blessed beyond imagination.

Losing Weight? ..... not really....

Soo... i haven't weighed myself since last monday. I need to lose 26.6 pounds to be back to my pre-pregnancy weight...So i got on the scale this morning and i lost 1.8 pounds. Kind of disappointing considering i am watching what i am eating and running/walking 5-6 miles a day.... i suppose i'm not on the biggest loser and not going to lose 15 pounds in one week like those people do... i just love watching that show. i wish i had Juliann Michel as my personal trainer. Even though it was only 1.8 pounds that i lost, i am going to keep my head up and keep working out and eating right (as long as Brandon will stop tempting me with fast food like Dominos last night!) .... If by October (Taylor's birthday) i still need to lose those 26 pounds... i just might give up and consider that my new weight... HAHA just kidding.. but seriously, I have 24.8 pounds to go!!!

Tax Day!!!! and...... Baby Talk!!!

Tax Day... TA-DA!!! This 2009 tax year was a pretty good one considering we both worked and had a baby... next year i have a feeling that 2010 tax year is not going to be so nice, well unless i get a job but considering the kind of work they have available and with my experience (which is not that much) my whole paycheck would go to daycare... and i really don't feel like working to let someone else raise my baby... Unless i was making a lot more then what daycare cost... but most daycare centers (the clean, nice ones....) are more then what rent would cost if we lived in an apartment.... YIKES!!! Days like this makes me think of home.. especially when i have my momma sending me text messages that she will quit her job to watch Taylor while i work... aww i love my momma.. but we have 3 years left in Wisconsin for Brandon to graduate.. he is working so hard for his family!!! We are here to have a better future, especially for Taylor.... We will be back in Tennessee in no time!!!

Oh lord... Brandon just asked me "Valentine's Day is not the 14th, is it?" i was like "What??" he said... "Its a made up holiday." WOW... feel the love....





Every morning like clock-work, at 7:45am Taylor talks to herself, or to her little mobile (butterflies and prince frogs) friends... were not really sure. She gives us about 20 minutes of coos and ahhs.. then about 8am,... she screams.. COME GET ME I'M UP! So that is our daily wake-up call... every single morning... and i just Love it.

Guilty Pleasures....Shopping that is!

So i have been thinking about putting my blog on private so only close friends and family could read what goes on in our lives... but then i remembered that I love to read people's blogs, even if i don't know them...LOL. I just come across random blogs and a lot of the time they talk about DIY projects that you can do, i have a huge list of those... Ummm or a lot of blogs have etsy.com stores that i like to look at especially for Taylor. I got a lot of creative ideas off of peoples blogs, so i have decided to keep my blog open to anyone who would like to read it! One blog that i find myself reading is Kelly's Korner, its too cute.. she post these "Show us your Life: Posts, and today's is --Where do you shop?

Target and Walmart almost everyday need something from those places.

If i was rich i would LOVE to shop at Anthropologie, that store is so freaking expensive but has the cutest clothes.

I usually get my clothes from Forever 21 because its ridiculously cheap!!

I haven't been shopping in forever, usually its Taylor's stores... I'm sure there will be a "show us your life" ---- where we shop for our kids :)

Ahhh and she sleeps....

Taylor has been super crabby today (finally napping)! Not much going on today (it is very ugly and depressing outside)... walked/ran 5.5 miles... i was going to go for 6 miles but Taylor had a dirty diaper and she will NOT be dirty for a second.. she will scream murder if she is not changed immediately after she goes... So after i changed her i just did not bother with the treadmill again, until tomorrow!

I am going to be 26 years old in like 2 weeks!!! woah, where did the time go... I'm sure i am going to blink and i am going to be 50... i better have that retirement fund talk with brandon again... hahaha. He's almost 30...YIKES... hahaha.

So incase Brandon is reading this post this is what i want for my birthday.... size 9.. I wear an 8.5 but they said they run small...

Confession....

Today Brandon, Taylor and I went to the mall to walk around see if we could find some workout stuff... well we decided to eat lunch at TGIFridays... ummm... Its all Brandon's fault... he made me order the fries... haha JUST KIdding... but no really the guy was like, "Salad or Fries?" there is just something wrong with a sandwich and a salad together, so i got the fries... i guess that is just one extra mile (maybe 10) that i have to run tomorrow...






Taylor fell asleep during Lunch (yippy!) Usually she hates her car seat and will cry until she is sitting with brandon or me.... so we got to enjoy a nice quite lunch.

It was like over night....

It seems like yesterday Taylor was a little blob that would sleep and eat all day, and now out of no where she is starting to hold her head up... she grabs for toys... she wants to put everything in her mouth.... and just overall aware of her surroundings. I can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring.







The past few days she has found her legs... so they are always UP!

Taylor 2 Months

Most friends and family have already seen this video... because of facebook.. but my parents have never got on facebook so i wanted to share this video so they can see it. Gosh, i love my Mac. Dad... you should get one... and get one for mom too! Ha! I am working on video for her month 3 and the newborn video... so those are coming!

Monday will be the Day.....

So... to my resolution of losing my baby weight i have decided to post on Monday's about my weight loss... Im not going to post my weight but instead i am going to announce if i lost any weight for that week. So far i need to lose 26 pounds. Here is to week one of my journey...I started walking/running on saturday 4 miles.... ok most of that was walking but i haven't exercised since i was 18 and on the Northeast Soccer team... so i am going to start building up my stamina... slowly... Sunday i didn't do anything... monday 5 miles, today 5 miles. My mom and dad gave me a treadmill before i had Taylor... for some reason i thought the weight was going to magically disappear, i have always been small... boy was i wrong... i was a size 4 pre-taylor... i am currently a size 12 after taylor... so yeah... My parents knew i gained a lot of weight so they were there to help... Plus I'm sure my dad was thrilled to see that treadmill leave his house, it was always in the way! Of course me exercising means diet... I've never had to diet in my life... but lets just say i am doing a special K diet... see how it goes. For dinner i eat what i want in small portions.. as for snacks... i try not to eat any snacks but if i do... Laughing Cow cheese with wheat thins.. my friend Amy told me that it was healthy... so i am trusting her that they are!!! I'm not going to set an end date to when i need to lose this 26 pounds.. but lets just say that it took me 9 months to gain the weight... it just might take 9 months to lose the weight!!!

New Year, New Me....

To catch everyone up.... Brandon and I moved to Eau Claire, WI August 14, 2008 for Brandon to go to college to get a degree in Construction Management. We have 3 years left here and will be moving back to Tennessee after graduation. October 2, 2009 we welcomed a baby girl, Taylor Kate Beckner, she is my world and the best thing that has happen to me so far!! I can't explain the love i have for her!!! She has her moments of monster like tendencies... but overall she is the greatest baby anyone could ask for! I wanted to start this blog because my family and brandon's family do not have facebook and that is where i post most of my pictures... so hopefully they can just pull up this website, and it will be like taking a peek into our lives since we live 700 miles away. This blog will be mostly about my family and a little bit of my resolution to lose the rest of the 26 pounds that i gained with Taylor (umm i gained 55 pounds, but only 26 pounds left to go!)... wow it was so easy to put on the weight....but such a struggle to get rid of it!!!! I hope friends and family enjoy this blog.

P.S. I am NOT the best speller... and i suck with grammer... But i graduated from High school and i have my Bachelors... so if you leave a comment about how i misspelled, or misused a word... i just might block you... LOL just a warning... such a pet peeve of mine ;)
